Abby Hollowell, DVM
Dr. Hollowell graduated from NCSU-CVM in 1991. She completed her equine internship in 1992 at the University of Missouri CVM. After her internship, she opened her practice in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. An equestrian herself, Dr. Hollowell grew up showing and training hunter/jumpers in the local area.
Dr. Hollowell believes the whole animal should be treated, not just focusing on the injured area. She is a member of AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners).
She has established The Country Vet Mobile Equine Veterinary Services aka The Country Vet Shop located in Waxhaw, North Carolina. Inside her office, she offers the Galloping Horse Art and Gift Gallery to showcase local artists who specialize in animal art. This includes all items from traditional portraits, metal sculptures, horseshoe sculptures, sterling jewelry, and pottery.
Susan Chandler, DC
Dr. Chandler received her doctorate of Chiropractic in 1985 from National College of Chiropractic, Chicago , IL. She began her practice in Matthews, North Carolina, first with human patients and then extended the practice to include equines. In addition to her private practice, she was a senior instructor by invitation for the University of Sydney, University of Melbourne, and The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Dr. Chandler provided her equine chiropractic services at the Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Chandler is one of the founder's of the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Chandler has been splitting her practice between humans and equines for over 15 years. Her clients include all equine breeds and sizes.
Myra Galloway, ESMT
Myra Galloway was trained and certified by Equissage in Equine Sports Massage Therapy and is a lifetime member of the International Association of Animal Massage Therapists. Myra has been focused in equine rehabilitation with a concentration in lameness for the past 10 years and is the founder of Bay Meadows Equine Rehabilitation and the Equine Institute. Her local area is North and South Carolina with event/show area the Southeastern United States. She is available for scheduled appointments, event/show sessions, and emergency assistance.
Steve Keeney, Farrier
Steve Keeney has been shoeing performance horse for 23 years. Mr. Keeney is currently certified under the American Farriers Association. He is a member of the American Farrier Association, North Carolina Farriers Association, and South Carolina Farriers Association. His experience includes past President and Board member for the South Carolina Farriers Association. He is the primary farrier for Bay Meadows Rehabilitation Center, and a key knowledge expert in all lameness rehab cases.
